This coming March, iPreciation presents a solo exhibition by Milenko Prvacki, featuring a new body of paintings. These new paintings are more coloristic and playful in their nature, focusing on the solidity of objects and liminal spaces between them, dissolving into a form of intrapersonal discussion which is often visual and less lingual. Two recurring themes within the umbrella of dislocation, are Prvacki’s “unsent letters” and “portrait with table”, both self-referential in their representation of artist’s thoughts and feelings toward the mechanism of communication via social media, apps and internet, while the former discusses a “table” as a mutual place that supports conversations yet gains a kind of autonomy without them. As Tony Godfrey states in the essay for the catalogue “We go to, we sit at a table, we pause and look down upon it. This action of go to, sit down, pause, look down and meditate is a good equivalent of how we should experience these recent paintings.” Regardless the subject, Prvacki’s paintings serve as mental spaces where one deciphers words from forms, colors from objects, but one can never fully collect all the fragments that are floating on the canvas, this being the substance of Prvacki’s artistic ouvre for over forty years now.
