Expanding on the popular 2016 exhibition “InSight: A Monumental 3D Journey”, “The City’s Double” presents more stereoscopic photographs of Singapore’s monuments, back lanes and communities by Italian photographer, Alberto Fanelli. Emulating the city tour sets of the 19th century, “The City’s Double” presents Fanelli’s journey through Singapore’s streets, with sound design by local artist Bani Haykal. With day and night images of Singapore, red and cyan representations, and a foreign and local perspective, “The City’s Double” offers a double-vision of Singapore – inviting us to see the city anew.
This special edition of “Singapore and the World” presents the Italian photographer Alberto Fanelli in conversation with Singaporean sound artist Bani Haykal as they discuss their artistic practices, and the process of presenting a stereoscopic installation of street photography and sounds of Singapore.
