Brainchild of Refinery29 and backed by VICE Media Group, 29Rooms makes its international debut in Singapore from 10 February to 16 April 2023 at Gardens by the Bay, after captivating audiences across New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto. Dubbed by The New York Times as “The creative playground for the Instagram generation”, the immersive event brings together a wonderland of installations designed for surprise, contemplation, celebration, and reflection. Focusing on the theme of “Lost & Found” in its Singapore edition, 29Rooms Asia spotlights 29 distinct spaces created in collaboration with artists, creators, and the community, with each space serving as an invitation for all to pause, laugh and wonder.

Using the opportunity to celebrate and spotlight local talents, Art Outreach collaborated with 29Rooms Asia to commission 7 local artists – Aeropalmics, ANTZ & TraseOne from urban art collective RSCLS, Chris Chai, Sania Himawan, Benedict Yu, Stephanie Tan – to create works than span larger-than-life murals, illustrations, and community-led interactive installations, displayed throughout the 29Rooms space.
