United Overseas Bank (UOB) is inviting Southeast Asia’s emerging and established artists to pour out their passion onto canvas and enter the 35th UOB Painting of the Year competition, Singapore’s longest-running art contest. The annual competition exemplifies UOB’s long-term support of the art community.
Artists in Singapore who wish to take part in the competition must submit their artwork and entry form between 16 and 18 September 2016, 11am to 5pm daily, at Artspace@Helutrans (39 Keppel Road, #01-05 Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Singapore 089065).

Shortlisted artists in Singapore will be notified by phone by 1 October 2016 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Singapore this November.
Art medium: Paintings in acrylic, batik, Chinese brush, collage, crayon, ink, mixed media, oil, watercolour are accepted. Video artworks, installations and sculptures will not be accepted. Collages, 2D emboss paintings and 3D paintings are acceptable, subject to a maximum thickness of 5 cm.
Criteria for Established Artist Category: Open to experienced professionals with an established portfolio of work. They must have shown their paintings in solo or group exhibitions (excluding school graduation shows); be represented by a gallery; or have achieved recognition through art awards
Criteria for Emerging Artist Category: Open to aspiring artists who are pursuing an art education; are taking their first steps to a career in art; or simply paint for pleasure
