Four Hispanic artists, Daniela Salvador, Melanie Boly, Bettsy Garcia and Cristina Arada, will present their works at a 3-day exhibition at Mireya Marsan Art Gallery.
Daniela Salvador-Fichtner was born in Quito, Ecuador. She spent part of her childhood in Vienna until she returned to Quito and continued her studies. Upon graduation, she returned to Vienna, where she entered the Academy of Fine Arts and achieved an MA in visual arts. She also continued with studies in pedagogy, history and Spanish literature, which she currently teaches. Her work has been exhibited in several art galleries and museums in Austria, Sweden, Cuba, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Ecuador. The technique used in her paintings is mainly acrylic on canvas. In this new collection, and as in previous works, Daniela has been inspired by the faces and contrasts of Latin American diversity and western societies. The very strong and lively colors she uses have been a symbol of her exhibitions, always trying to find that social, visual and personal balance. Now in Asia, she not only tries to find the contrast, but the analogy between Asian and Latin American cultures.
Originally from Argentina, Melanie Boly lived in Gothenburg, Sweden before moving to Singapore. Melanie discovered her passion for art as a personal therapy. She has a unique eye for colour and loves the idea that art can be fun. When asked about her inspiration, she says: “Life itself“.
Bettsy Garcia is a Mexican artist with a background in biology and art. She grew up in Ures, where family relatives painted, played music and did sculpture. Her work is personal and inspired by nature, social issues, children’s imagination and culture. Garcia has exhibited in Mexico, USA, Singapore and Canada.
Cristina Arada is a Spanish artist, based in Singapore since 2012. Her work mixes different themes and formats. She enjoyes playing with colours, light and contrast.
