The relentless expansion of urban development continues to threaten traditional lands, cultural heritage, and indigenous communities—an enduring global crisis that has persisted for centuries. The 7th Objectifs Documentary Award spotlights this pressing reality through the work of its latest recipients, Gab Mejia (the Philippines), Aziziah Diah Aprilya (Indonesia), and Geela Garcia (the Philippines), with a particular focus on the environmental and cultural upheavals unfolding across Southeast Asia.
Their awarded documentary projects explore the far-reaching consequences of deforestation, the preservation of artisanal salt-making traditions, and the impact of coastline reclamation, presented in three solo exhibitions at Objectifs from 4 April to 18 May 2025.
