The Affordable Art Fair has announced that after four years, it will be focusing on the November edition event as the flagship fair and will not be organising a 2018 Spring Edition fair (usually held in April) in Singapore. The popular event, which has been hosting two fairs per year since 2015, will instead focus on bringing an enhanced Autumn Edition programme to the city’s growing art scene when it returns this November with new galleries, as well as returning favourites, to include fresh artists and an all-new section focusing on new-medium installations.
Remaining committed to the success of their loyal galleries, the Singapore team will launch a series of talks this year based on the “Business of Art” in an effort to give galleries the tools needed to raise their chances of success. This will be an opportunity for the fair to share their market knowledge from around the world over the last 18 years, as well as local Singapore insights, and will offer tips and techniques to local galleries on topics such as marketing, social media and how to better promote their artists and galleries, as well as how to select, hang and curate their spaces.
The leading showcase for affordable contemporary art, the fair originated in Singapore in 2010, and is a highlight on the local arts and lifestyle calendar. The fair returns from 17 – 19 November 2017, set to turn the city pink for it’s eighth year and will offer a fresh variety of local, regional and international talents featuring over 60 galleries.
To be held at the F1 Pit Building, the Affordable Art Fair will showcase a wide range of contemporary art all priced between SG $100 to SG $15,000 with 75% of the art offered at under SG $7,500.
