Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2019

The 10th edition of Affordable Art Fair Singapore will be held at the F1 Pit Building from 22-24 November, 2019. This year’s fair will host more than 80 exhibitors and present artworks by more than 600 local and international artists. All works are priced below S$15,000, with 75% of the pieces being tagged below S$7,500.

The international range of galleries exhibiting at the fair has always been a strong draw for visitors and this year is no exception. In keeping with Singapore being a global city, exhibitors will come from all over the world: with 30% from Singapore; 47% from rest of Asia; and 23% from the rest of the world such as the UK, USA, Canada, and France.

Affordable Art Fair Singapore has successfully grown from 9,500 visitors and S$1.75 million in art sales in 2010 to 12,000 visitors and S$3.7 million in sales in 2018, reflecting the growing appetite for contemporary art in Singapore. Since 2010, visitors to Affordable Art Fair Singapore have purchased a total of S$43.61 million in art for their homes.

Constantly evolving and keeping the fair fresh for its audience, this year’s fair boasts 25% new galleries such as Chryse Gallery of Fine Art (Singapore), Giant Year Gallery (Hong Kong); and Jinsan Gallery (Korea). Well-loved, long-time supporters of the fair such as Asian Art Platform (Singapore); Art Blue Studio (Singapore); RHG (UK); and La Lanta Fine Art (Thailand) will be returning.

Visitors can also expect to see exciting and fresh works from new artists, which form 35% of this year’s show, such as Singaporean artist Ng Chai Soong (Y Art Project; Singapore); Vietnamese artist Nguyen Nghia Cuong (Chryse Gallery of Fine Art; Singapore); and Taiwanese artist Ti Lei (Shenns Softart; Singapore). They will show alongside established and returning artists such as the legendary Toko Shinoda, who is currently 106 years old.

The Children’s Creative Space hosted by Art Wonderland will return to inspire creativity in younger fair visitors with free art workshops. Fair goers should also stay tuned for exciting programmes run by the fair’s official hotel partner Dorsett Singapore in the lead-up to and during the fair period.
