Age of Revelation is a short film that explores the various relationships between nature and technology, men and nature, and man and god(s) in the 21st century. It highlights how corrupt powers and external forces influence people, their actions, and their environment. The main character is sightless initially, and she brings the audience on a journey of discovery as she relies on music and dialogue to interact with similarly sightless individuals.
The film features performance artist Effendy Ibrahim and participation by local performers as the cast. Effendy Ibrahim has an extensive background in the contemporary art scene and has taught at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Laselle, and curated programmes for international music and dance festivals. It was produced by Pōtocol, a production company that has produced famous audiovisual works such as The Wandering by Yeo Siew Hua and Russell Morton, for SIFA v2.020.
Age of Revelation is available free on SCCC’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, from 2 August till 2 November 2021.
