18 years ago, Mike and Lourdes Samson moved to SIngapore. Since then, they have been collecting artworks from their Filipino heritage, and have recently been acquiring works from around the region. Their collection of art is highly impressive, with 40 to 50 works in their home alone. The couple builds on their collection with the acquisition of pieces that appeal to both their tastes, over time building an understanding of each other’s aesthetic. The Samsons are interested in the stories of artists, and delight in opportunities to engage with them in conversations about their work as it informs their purchases, but also strengthens their relationship with artists as collectors.
