Art Day Out!

Gillman Barracks’ daytime open house event, Art Day Out!, will take place on Saturday 17 March, from 2pm to 7pm, in conjunction with Singapore Design Week 2018.

In this edition of Art Day Out!, Gillman Barracks will celebrate A March of Design. Visitors can look forward to programme highlights such as:

  • Singapore Design Week 2018 highlight Wallpaper* Handmade Retreat, an exhibition of products by international and Singapore-based creatives designed to aid mental, spiritual and bodily wellbeing and celebrate lifestyle;
  • The launch of a specially commissioned new major outdoor artwork by Thai artist, Kamin Lertchaiprasert, and new public programmes by DISINI, Gillman Barracks’ inaugural visual arts festival;
  • The debut of NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore’s Artist-in-Residence project Creatif Compleks by Singapore artist Michael Lee; and
  • Hands-on art activities for children at Playeum’s Children’s Centre for Creativity and Art Outreach to stimulate young minds.

In addition, visitors can also enjoy precinct-wide art activities and programmes including new exhibition openings, artist talks, F&B offerings and guided docent tours by Friends of the Museum – the perfect itinerary for a leisurely Saturday at Gillman Barracks.
