ART FOR THE MASSES – The Affordable Pop Art Exhibition, will showcase a very exciting group of pop art and pop art off-shoot artists that create urban and so-called low-brow art. For the last decade or so, under the radar, there have been several very interesting things happening globally in the arts. One is the proliferation of artists who create their work mainly on the streets, or who have become incredibly well known by a large audience but are virtually unknown in the established art world. The low-brow and street art movements are built on many of the tenets of pop art and some of the most exciting art today is created by these artists.
Art Talk: 17 March
Art is for everyone and can be afforded by anyone. It is possible to buy an original artwork for less than people spend on a “painting” from Ikea. Artist and art collector Iskander Walen will conduct a talk and brief tour of the Art for the Masses exhibition and explain how he appreciates and selects work for his own collection. Learn what art pricing is and how to select work for your home and collection. This is a FREE event. Please come on time so as to not disturb the talk.
