This 2.5 hours session will provide an overview of the work of the Modern Masters while examining the main periods of their careers, concentrating on how they were influenced by other great artists of the past, and explaining how the major developments that defined Picasso’s and Matisse’s work have found a lasting place in Art History.
A Picasso-Matisse documentary will conclude the session showing the work of the two great masters, their friendship, their rivalry and their mutual inspiration.
The movie Matisse and Picasso – Twin Giants of Modern Art is an encounter with the two pioneers, two adventurers in painting, who opened new frontiers. In spite of their initial rivalry and their very different temperaments, each came to acknowledge the other as his only true equal.
