
This season will introduce a neighbourhood-specific focus, with six arts programmes taking place in Toa Payoh, of which two are new commissions drawing content and inspiration from its rich legacy as Singapore’s second oldest satellite town. Look out for a myriad of exciting dance, music, visual arts, literary arts and theatre programmes, an exciting line-up of 27 activities over three fun-filled weeks, across 17 locations island-wide.

The Real Estates – Toa Payoh edition – by Jean Loo feat. other young photographers
A stunning visual tapestry of photographs mounted on an art installation, showcasing familiar sights and scenes from the Toa Payoh neighbourhood. Anyone can also contribute to the installation by writing down a phase to share what they love about Toa Payoh.

CROSSING – by Riduan Zalani and NADI Singapura
A musical feast featuring an assembly of dynamic and prominent Singapore arts groups including SA The Collective, Tamarind Sound Project, OrkeStar Trio and NADI Singapura – reflecting familiar places, scenes, and sounds found only in Singapore through a myraid of multicultural percussive instruments. CROSSING is led by Young Artist Award Recipient, Riduan Zalani.

DIVERSITY – by MUSA
Experience Chinese music with twin sisters Su-Min and Su-Hui, and Dayn, as they present a new sound and modern twist to the traditional Chinese instruments, Zhongruan and Guzheng. By exploring a range of music genres from Chinese Folk to Pop with the use of electronic music, there are certainly familiar tunes for all to enjoy.

The Rainbow Toymaker – by Sweet Tooth (Cake Theatrical Productions)
A visually exciting theatre performance where a dynamic interplay of music, costumes, larger-than-life props and storytelling allows young audiences to enjoy a magical tale, interact with the performers and discover some of Singapore’s best-loved retro games such as Five Stones and Pick-up sticks.
