Unrequited love, teenage rivalry, and a search for one’s purpose – these are some recurring tropes that occur within the short films that will be screened at the Asian Film Focus. The films have been curated to the theme of Youth Today, which aims to look at the experience of young people in Asia, and through this connect to large social issues through film. Out of the 21 short films in the line up, 14 of them will be screened here for the first time.
The screenings will be accompanied by two dialogue sessions, which will see filmmakers, curators, and writers speak on representations of youth in film.
