“Balance in Imperfection” is an exhibition consisting of art works of Master Ceramist Mr Iskandar Jalil, Singapore Cultural Medallion recipient for Visual Arts and Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation Award recipient and nine other disciple artists such as Mr AB Latip Hussain, Ms Agnes Lim, Ms Aida Binte Khalid, Ms Grace Lee, Ms Hiroko Mita,Ms Joan Seow, Ms Ng Hwee Kee, Ms Ria Harakuma and Ms Tan Gek Lin. This exhibition is a presentation of how beauty can be seen in what initially seems flawed, rough and unrefined.
The artist works are influenced by the idea of wabi-sabi which is an ancient Japanese Philosophy that inspires one to seek beauty in things are modest, humble and unpretentious.
