The show is a one-act play with Audio-visual reconstructions, featuring the true life, art and science of the Italian Renaissance genius. The play portrays on stage the story behind Leonardo da Vinci: the painter, the scientist, the inventor recounting in his authentic language, his secrets, his working methods and his passions.
Renowned Italian Director and Actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory with Jacopo Rampini, Actor, as the interviewer, will bring Leonardo to life again. Dressed in period costumes and wearing makeup to reconstruct da Vinci’s face, Finazzer performs in original texts written by Leonardo himself. Being interviewed “on stage”, Leonardo answers questions about his childhood, his civil and military activities, and how to become a “good painter” and about the relationship between Painting and Science, Painting and Sculpture, Painting and Music. He comments on “The Last Supper”, replies to his enemies’ attacks, and finally offers maxims and aphorisms to live by in our times.
The play will be performed both in Italian, with English surtitles and in English. The run-time is approximately 90 minutes, which promises a pertinent insight into one of the great creative minds of the Italian Renaissance. The show will provide Singapore with the perfect opportunity to witness and experience the man considered one of the most diversely eclectic and brilliant individual ever lived.
