Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story is a documentary that reveals an unusual story of Hollywood legend and beauty, Lamarr, who was also a technology genius and scientist.
During World War II, Lamarr co-invented a secret communication system or ‘frequency hopping’ with composer George Antheil, in hope to defeat the Nazis. The technology is now known as spread-spectrum broadcasting which is the building block for GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and military satellite technology.
Written and directed by Alexandra Dean, alongside with Academy Award winner, Susan Sarandon, serving as executive producer and featuring narration from Diane Kruger, the film tells the extraordinary story and impact of a woman’s innovation.
