The exhibition 29.03.15 distills the mood of that fateful day that has become synonymous with grief in Singapore’s history. This series of works reflect the quiet, sombre and grey tones of the nation, capturing the sentiments that took many Singaporeans by surprise of their own emotional reaction and actions to the passing of our founding father Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Whilst the nation discusses his commemoration, the artist chooses instead to focus on the people of Singapore – “the ordinary, anonymous Singaporeans who did the extraordinary”, in the artist’s own words.
