Bovine In Your Wine

Gnani Arts honours the life of cattle with

BOVINE IN YOUR WINE

Art that Armours the Bull

Curated by Vidhya Gouresan Nair

Art is an advocate. Art is an armour. It is a fact that the blood of the bull or the ox has been used in the wine-making tradition, as a fining agent, in a process that removes unsettled particles in order to change the sight of wine from murky to crystal clear. Since 1997, due to the fatal alarm caused by bovine spongiform encephalopathy or the mad cow disease, this usage has been rightfully forbidden in the European Union and the United States of America. Today, your vintage wine may contain traces of cattle blood, but the contents of the wine that you decide to relish at any point now, will remain questionable. Gnani Arts expresses its intense love and respect towards the world of the cattle, through an energetic art collection that portrays the bovine in several enticing and sometimes humourous settings, reflecting the creative mastery of every participating artist of the exhibition. – Vidhya Gouresan Nair
