Singapore’s National Monuments may come in all shapes and sizes, but we bet you didn’t expect them to be called ‘small’. At a new travelling exhibition, Building History: Monuments in Bricks and Blocks, you will get to be the one towering over some of Singapore’s most familiar landmarks as they are shrunk into miniature models that showcase the architectural diversity of our National Monuments.
Organised by the Preservation of Sites and Monuments (PSM) division of the National Heritage Board (NHB), the travelling exhibition features eight models of National Monuments, constructed using over 110,000 LEGO bricks. These intricate models recreate iconic landmarks in Singapore, such as the National Museum of Singapore, Jurong Town Hall, Sultan Mosque and Thian Hock Keng (temple). Through the exhibition, visitors of all ages can discover more about the history and significance of the monuments.
