Supernormal is proud to present “BY/BY” by Yen Phang. An installation in two parts – a study in adjacency, and the opacity of close relations with someone who is not here now.
How is memory perpetuated and recreated? How does one aggregate the remains of past habits and routines?
“By/By” is the culmination of a year-long practice of queer phenomenology through the grief process. It starts off with a two-week in-gallery residency, resulting in an overall secretion of gesture, object, and mark-marking using Vaseline and other lubricants.
