Yuan Kan’s works do not seek to communicate fixed or legible meanings. Instead, they inhabit a liminal zone—one marked by elusiveness, ambiguity, and a persistent sense of existential emptiness. This is not an absence, but a commitment to the riddle itself, as if mystery remains the final frontier of art.
Rather than offering answers, Yuan Kan’s practice gestures toward an immeasurable inner infinity. Careful Collapse does not ask the viewer to resolve uncertainty, but to remain with it—to dwell alongside fragile structures, unstable forms, and moments suspended between emergence and collapse.
