Celebration is the theme of heART’S 10th Anniversary Exhibition – referring to a joyous commemoration of life. This is particularly poignant for the artists, who are members of heART, an initiative by KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital that offers artistic support to its adult cancer patients and survivors. The works on show celebrate how art has empowered the heART participants to overcome their fears and anxieties, and have the courage to live their lives to the fullest again.
Most of the artists have no formal art training but find creating art to be a healing experience. Through the programme, many have since picked up skills in painting and discovered their passion for art.
A complimentary origami workshop will be conducted from 7 – 11 October at the gallery from 2.30pm – 3.30pm and 4.00pm – 5.00pm. Anyone aged 13 and above is welcome to join and it is limited to 10 slots per workshop. To register, please email DPM@kkh.com.sg.
