In a debut exhibition, Master Chef Leong from Jade restaurant, The Fullerton Hotel, will be showcasing over 30 skilfully handcrafted traditional and contemporary ceramic pieces as part of his tribute to Singapore’s upcoming Golden Jubilee celebration. Along with an exquisite Jade restaurant six-course menu specially prepared by Master Chef Leong and his talented culinary team, guests and diners will have a peek into a collection of intricately handcrafted culinary wares reflecting Master Chef Leong’s masterful marriage of the culinary and fine arts.
Master Chef Leong’s interest in the fine arts was influenced by his father and his brother in 1991. He recently rediscovered his interest which soon developed into a passion. As a Chinese chef with a love for nature, Master Chef Leong’s ceramic pieces are often inspired by natural elements like the organic textures of tree bark, foliage and rocks, as well as auspicious Chinese mythical characters such as the dragon and phoenix.
Every piece holds a portion of Master Chef Leong’s passion as he goes through the laborious processes to create his masterpieces.
