City of New Ruins contemplates the pursuit of the ‘Singaporean Dream’. We invite you to explore a tactile playground of sand, concrete and light – abstracted elements of Forest City, a haunting proxy of Singapore situated in Johor Bahru. These ruins act as a speculative backdrop of an uncanny, future city, reflecting on the social, emotional and ecological tensions tied to relentless expansion and accumulation. Through poetry, architecture, sound and moving image, we consider these shifts in our landscape, and their effects on our sense of time and being.
Venue: Tanjong Pagar Distripark, 37 Keppel Rd, Block 37, #04-01B Singapore 089064
