Confluence Art Space ushers in the new year with Coloured Continuum, a solo exhibition by the late Lim Tze Peng. Once described by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as a “central canon in Singapore art and culture”, Lim remains one of the nation’s most significant ink artists and a 2003 Cultural Medallion recipient. From 10th January to 8th February 2026, in conjunction with the Singapore Art Week 2026, visitors are invited to experience a curated presentation portraying diverse scenes of Singapore.
Coloured Continuum traces the chromatic evolution of Lim’s post-millennial practice, distinguished by heightened vibrancy in contrast to the understated palette in his formative ink works. Of the 18 paintings featured, eight pieces are particularly significant: first conceived by Lim in the 1970s and 1980s, these works were later reawakened by the artist in the 2020s, enlivening the compositions with melodic infusions of colour that breathe renewed life into the black-and-white portrayals of early Singapore.
