Leica’s very first multi-sensory photography exhibition, using Augmented Reality, features Singapore talent, across two generations.
Presenting the work of photographers Yik Keat and Geoff Ang through 二, A Tale of Convergence exhibition at Leica Galerie, in Fullerton Hotel, Leica invites photography and art lovers in Singapore to come and appreciate how the two generations bring their art, techniques, viewpoints together.
Twenty-two-year-old Lee Yik Keat is a self-taught street photographer who started his love for photography with his smartphone five years ago. He is inspired by the environment around him, the simplest of daily activities, music and people ‘chasing their own dreams’. The absence of formal training and technical knowledge has enabled Yik Keat to work with no boundaries – pure instinct, inherent appreciation of light and shadows and ability to transit raw emotions through his lenses.
In complete contrast, Geoff Ang, at the age of 44 is an accomplished commercial photographer. His successful career for leading international brands has opened up many opportunities, including a brand ambassador for Leica’s SL-system. Both intuition and technical application makes his work compelling for both marketing effort but most importantly in his mentorship programme, a personal initiative close to his heart.
