Unfolding through various materials, including found objects, clay and sand, d3ar succ3ss0r presents imprints of contemporary found objects alongside a fabricated archaeological site and post-excavation tools to speculate the examination of remnants from our present by individuals from the future. Conceived according to the principles of stratigraphy—the study of layered materials deposited over time—the works attempts to demonstrate the interconnected relationships between human relations, physical environments and archaeological methodologies. In line with Fazleen’s current interest in archiving present-day digital debris and web-based culture, the exhibition’s title draws upon leetspeak, a coded spelling system and language used in informal communications on the internet.
