This exhibition presents a series of projects that investigates the role of design in death.
A topic that is still taboo and often ill considered, these exploratory projects tackle the practical problems, semantic sensitivities and emotional challenges of passing on in the context of a contemporary society. Visitors to the exhibition are provoked by the myriad of design possibilities; these strategic processes and insights projected into the future challenge preconceptions and tickle their imagination.
This exhibition is sponsored by Nirvana Memorial Garden and supported by DesignSingapore Council, with students from the Division of Industrial Design, National University of Singapore responsible for the projects, performed under the supervision of assistant professor Hans Tan.
