Derivatives of Decay reflects on our growing impulse to copy and preserve, drawing attention to the tensions and limitations that emerge when intangible memory and spiritual practices are translated into digital form.

At the centre of the exhibition is the collaborative work “Master JEKKS”, a digital divination master born out of an exploration of the religious and spiritual economy observed around Waterloo Street. As human-centred rituals and experiences are increasingly becoming entangled with technology and algorithms, the line between machine and humanity continues to blur.
