What is the quality of human connection today? Of empathy, and eventual devotion? What with our communications now being monetised by dating platforms, and our movements captured by the warm embrace of surveillance capitalism.
De:voted is a natural progression from INSTINC’s last project, DE:FAULT, which looked at the discussions surrounding ArtStage and the community interventions thereafter. But here we are now, together asking “what connects us? Is it the spaces we negotiate between ourselves? Our assigned roles? the marks and relics we leave behind for each other?
DE:VOTED is not just a collection of new works, rather, an opening up of a single gesture of communal relation played out through technology, performance, and installation.
