DigiMuse Presents will unveil a range of prototype projects which bring to life the possibilities of integrating culture and technology. Selected from the inaugural DigiMuse Open Call in January 2018, the projects offer new experiences in immersive reality, dynamic conversations enabled by artificial intelligence, and more, with highlights such as:
– An Excavation Through Time by iMMERSiVELY – a virtual reality experience which enables visitors to “dig up” and uncover artefacts previously excavated in Singapore
– Beeing Human by Baëlf Design – a re-imagination of the museum’s traditional costume collections through digital 3D-printing technology
– Project Insight by HelloHolo – which provides a unique look into conserving artwork using the wearable mixed-reality technology HoloLens
– Museum Experiential Guide by Digimagic and Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media Travel – which brings visitors on an interactive journey through time via augmented reality
– Ask William by Unified Inbox – an artificial intelligence messenger platform that helps visitors discover more about the museum’s artworks by hearing directly from William Farquhar
DigiMuse Presents is the newest edition to the wider DigiMuse programme, an initiative by the National Museum of Singapore to lead a vibrant cultural sector invested in digital innovation. Through the DigiMuse initiative, the museum encourages creative experimentation in cultural spaces and invites artists, technologists, and culture professionals to explore possibilities of enhancing museum experiences for visitors through the creative application of technology.
