The paintings of Foo Wenfeng in Dreams of the Garden City are suffused with a soft-focused sunlit glow of familial congeniality. Humans are tiny, in the background, but their intimate associations fill the landscape with the half-heard conversations of old married couples and distant laughter of children playing with their parents.
