As Singapore turns 60, ANTI:DOTE brings you a uniquely Singaporean afternoon tea experience in collaboration with Singaporean artist Yip Yew Chong.
Best known for his vivid art that breathes life into scenes of old Singapore — from hawker stalls and HDB corridors to bustling markets and quiet kopitiams — Yew Chong paints with warmth, nostalgia, and a deep love for local culture. He often says he wants people to “walk into his art” — to feel the sights, sounds and smells of the Singapore he remembers.
Now, you can taste it too. Working closely with Fairmont Singapore’s culinary team, Yew Chong shared visual references, colours, childhood memories and even favourite foods, inspiring a menu that captures the essence of Singapore’s multicultural identity. Each tier of this afternoon tea is designed to evoke stories from his art — rich in flavour, layered in meaning, and full of heart.
On 10 August 2025, guests were delighted with not only the lovely afternoon tea but were able to witness Yew Chong live in action, as he painted his popular grumpy cat, enjoying a bowl of durian cendol. The painting was then donated to Ambulance Wish Singapore and will be put up for auction.
