“Flow – Art is Freedom” is a solo art exhibition by Ms Janet Ng, a self-taught contemporary artist featuring her works when she is in a state of “Flow”.
What is Flow? Flow is a state of mind when an individual is totally immersed in an experience, enjoying every moment of the task in a pure state of joy. It is the feeling of being “in the zone” while overcoming challenges. In a “Flow” state, time flies by and energy focused on the activity. Art has become a form of freedom to the artist.
These art pieces were created over a period of 3 years, and they are special to the artist as they were created when the artist was in the state of “Flow”. Visitors to the show will be able to purchase limited and exclusive art pieces by the artist, herself, while being charmed by the varied colours and quirky pieces.
Janet explains: Flow is my first solo art exhibition and I believe that it applies to my works when I was painting the art pieces, it tells of my joy and peaceful actualization of my being.” Janet will be donating 50% of the sales proceeds to the Assisi Hospice. She opines “A hospice is a place filled with peace and dignity for the final life stages of patients, which epitomes my art pieces of peace, calmness and serenity”.
