Found In Translation: Singapore’s Translated Books

In conjunction with the #BuySingLit campaign, The Select Centre is showcasing a selection of Singapore’s translated books that is set to enrich your literary diet. These works provide a window into the multicultural, multilingual fabric of our society, as the English translations transport us into a world full of stories that are at once familiar yet thought-provoking. Books by writers including Isa Kamari, Mohamed Latiff Mohamed, Kanagalatha, Singai Ma Elangkannan, Yeng Pway Ngon and You Jin are featured, as well as established translators like Alfian Sa’at, Jeremy Tiang and Shelly Bryant.

In addition, the showcase features books that also explore intercultural themes, which ruminate on our state of diversity through the prism of family, food, migrant labour, and history.

The books on display are also for sale.

Venue: The Select Centre, Blk 231 Bain Street. #04-01 Bras Basah Complex, Singapore 180231

When: 25 Feb - 31 May 2017, 10am - 7pm (11am – 7pm on Mondays)
