Ahoy intrepid sailors! The technology required for sailing and navigating the high seas has changed dramatically over the last 500 years. Singapore has benefitted enormously from these advancements in maritime technology over the centuries in terms of volume and frequency of trade. In this presentation by Captain Frederick Francis, learn about the transformation of sailing, and listen to his personal experience of commanding and navigating large container ships through some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world such as the Straits of Malacca and the Singapore Strait.
Admission: $5 per pax includes a presentation, the viewing of maritime artefacts from the speaker’s collection, and light snacks.
