The outcomes of a collaboration between the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand are exhibited at “FurnitureORIGINS 2016”. Students from the two institutions conceptualised and produced furniture designs that were realised into prototypes. This exhibition showcases the creative processes and outcomes of the 2016 collection, “New Scenery of Daybed”, as well as a retrospective of two previous collections.
This is the third installment that students from both institutions are working together, as part of an MOU that formalizes an academic partnership among both institutions.
A total of 15 student participants were involved in this project. From NAFA were seven 3D Design programme students reading Furniture & Spatial Design as well as Object & Jewellery Design; who worked with eight KMUTT students majoring in Industrial Design and Interior Design, from the School of Architecture & Design.
