The art experience will be extended beyond the walls of the museum as National Gallery Singapore launches its first anniversary celebrations – Gallery Light to Night Festival. Held over two weekends, visitors will see the heart of the Civic District come alive from day to night. The Festival will offer more than 60 elaborate day-to-night programmes designed to captivate and kindle a curiosity for art.
The Festival will inject popular and accessible museum activities for visitors of all ages and interests, including interactive art installations, an art and design market, riveting roving acts and live music sessions which offer a multi-sensory experience.
Some activities will also be carried out after the Gallery’s usual closing hours, including the highly anticipated Façade Show. Back by popular demand after a successful display last year during the Gallery’s opening weekend, the new light and music extravaganza will create an illusion of luminescent paint engulfing the entire façade of the City Hall building.
