Beloved by children and adults alike the world over, the story of Hansel and Gretel has inspired many adaptations for the stage. One of the most popular of these is Engelbert Humperdinck’s 1893 opera which remains as popular today as it was when it was first performed. Filled with lush, romantic melodies and German folk songs, Hansel and Gretel is one of the great operas to be experienced live.
In this adventure for the whole family, Orchestra of the Music Makers is joined by an international and local cast of singers for this semi-staged concert performance, the Volare Treble Voices by Darius Lim, directed by Edith Podesta and conducted by Chan Tze Law.
