This March, Heritage Activation Node (HAN)@Punggol Open House will transform Waterway Point and neighbouring public spaces into a vibrant showcase of Punggol’s shared histories, familiar trades, and evolving landscapes. Through a mix of community-driven projects and site-specific artistic responses, visitors will encounter stories of the precinct told not as distant history, but as lived experience.
Supported by the National Heritage Board (NHB) and organised by OH! Open House, the inaugural Open House marks a key milestone of HAN@Punggol, a three-year initiative that supports community-led efforts to research, document and present the heritage of the precinct.
At the heart of the Open House is the launch of the Punggol Co-Created Neighbourhood Directory, which features 10 short stories of familiar Punggol histories developed from oral history interviews and archival research. The programme also spotlights four Call for Collaboration projects by residents and ground-up organisations, alongside a series of artist-led works inspired by Punggol’s waterways, coastlines, and everyday memories, offering multiple entry points into the neighbourhood’s identity and transformation.
