In the Emerging Category of the 8th Objectifs Documentary Award, Indonesian photographer Husna presents Hijab/I. Drawing on her own experience, Husna examines how Muslims, including queer individuals, negotiate wearing the hijab—balancing family and religious expectations with personal choice. Her photographs and notes show how clothing can be a site of decision-making, expression, and quiet resistance, capturing individuals navigating the boundaries between societal pressure and self-determination.
