Hitotoki no hitotoki 2016 (一時の一時 2016) a moment of a moment is a solo painting exhibition by CHEN CHONG ‘EN.

This collection was borne from a contemplative depiction of the human psyche as plants. The visual compositions are based on the need for personal space. The relationships between the organisms, shadows, colours, wood and glass can be viewed as bondage or constraints. The animal figurines question the behavioral patterns and stereotyping that we tend to project onto each other.

The artist hopes to provide a quiet, safe and tranquil moment for the viewers, thus hitotoki no hitotoki, a space of a space.
