Queensway Television is pleased to present Hold My Pelvis by Qin Jin. Spanning two hours, the video documents the artist’s daily journey from home to studio, while holding a ‘pelvis’ sculpture made with red pastel and rubbing it against the asphalt road, gradually wearing it down.
Throughout the film, something seems to be unfolding, yet nothing quite happens. The frame remains fixed on the pelvis moving steadily along the ground, devoid of any view of the city or its surroundings. The pelvis constantly erodes, leaving traces of pigment along the way, as the pastel rubs off the uneven surfaces of the road through its journey.
