This September, Dempsey Hill will transform into a gathering place for a heartwarming community art showcase as HOME: 家 brings together 450 artists, from young children to adults, for a three-day exhibition celebrating the power of art to connect people across generations and inspire collective giving. About 450 original artworks will be exhibited during the weekend, with half going for sale and proceeds supporting the Children’s Cancer Foundation and Singapore Cancer Society.
Taking place from 4 to 6 September, HOME: 家 invites visitors to reflect on the many meanings of “home” through artworks inspired by personal memories, family, identity and everyday life. Yet beyond the paintings themselves lies a larger story about a community that has grown around creativity.
Presented by Artgrain, a Singapore arts education studio in partnership with Dempsey Hill, HOME: 家 reflects a shared belief that creativity and the willingness to give back can bring a community together. The exhibition points at more than a display of artistic talent, to showcase a culmination of personal journeys, where art has become a vehicle for self-expression, resilience and connection for the 450 artists – about one-third of which are children and youth.
