HotLotz International Art Online Auction features 81 lots of fine art. The sale includes a single-owner collection of paintings (lots 1 to 26) collected over 20 years. Among this collection of mostly Southeast Asian works of art, is a newly rediscovered masterpiece by local artist, Tee Hong Aw, titled Fishermen’s Joy (lot 8).
Tee Hong Aw is well-known for his works in oil and acrylic, watercolour, Chinese ink, charcoal and sculptures. His sculptures adorn many public places in Singapore. If you have taken a River Boat, you may have seen one of Aw’s bronze sculptures, The River Merchants, outside the Maybank Tower. His pieces also feature at Raffles Place MRT, Tanjong Pagar MRT, Ministry of Community & Development, KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the Civil Defence Club.
