We recognize things around us by their visual attributes that give us information of what they are. For instance, we recognize trees or city lights by their unique visual characteristics. The experience of looking at things often triggers associated feelings. When we look at trees or city lights, our mind digests the visual information to create personal meanings. At the same time, we can also sense feelings by looking at objects or being surrounded by them.
Presented in the form of abstract paintings, six Indonesian artists: Dipo Andy, Faizal, Made Wianta, Pupuk Daru Purnomo, R. Yuki Agriardi and Yoga Mahendra attempt to extract the feelings out of objects and images by stripping them of their visual attributes.
