Ian Woo will analyse and share a selection of new painting presentations by painters based in Singapore, where elements of picture making, figuration, materiality and memory are being teased out. Comparisons will be made with regards to painting discourse around the world, particularly painting centres like New York and Berlin, where genres like abstraction and figuration are dominant ideologies being exchanged among artists.
