-i-n-f-i-n-i-t-e- is an interactive installation by multidisciplinary artist Natalia Tan responding to the Yee I-Lann: Mansau Ansau exhibition.
Commonplace objects found on the grounds of SAM have been cocooned in strips of fabric salvaged from textile waste, adding new layers of visual and textural complexity while concealing their original silhouettes. The installation becomes a site for communal play and co-creation. Visitors are invited to co-create the work: they can weave the fabric strips, prepared by various communities, into the installation. A tongue-in-cheek approach to “play at work,” the series draws attention to material circularity, invisible labour—especially in the service and creative industries—and how storytelling can inject new life into everyday objects.
